The day of the presidential Regiment

In the year 1918, from March to September, the Moscow Kremlin, which became the residence of the young Soviet Government, guarded by Latvian Riflemen. In this post, shooters have replaced 1-St Moscow eradicate courses.

In the autumn of 1935 year the ALL-school was transferred from the territory of the Kremlin in Lefortovo. To protect the Kremlin special purpose Battalion was formed (bosnaz). Bosnaz belonged to the Office of the Commandant's Office in the Kremlin, which, in turn, in accordance with the decision of the Government of the USSR was subordinated to NKVD.

During the second world war, the soldiers of the regiment defended the Kremlin from enemy air raids. From the very beginning of the war, Polk, on the orders of Commandant of the Kremlin, moved to strong safety and defend strategic sites. The Kremlin wall installed the combat crews which conducted a 24-hour basis.

In 1942-1943 Gg. on the Volkhov and West fronts of the Kremlin Regiment were sent to four groups of snipers, who just one year have destroyed more than 1 300 enemy soldiers. During the war, the regiment suffered and loss, 97 people were left lying on the battlefield.

From 1952 onwards it is now became a separate Regiment (separate SPN RGT). On his account there and military awards, in May of the year 1965, the regiment was awarded order of the red banner for its Valor during World War II. In 1973 was followed by another renaming in a separate red banner Kremlin Regiment.

The current name, the presidential Regiment, was awarded in 1993 by the President of the Russian Federation.
September 2, 2002 in the composition of the presidential Regiment of Cavalry was introduced honorary escort.
Day is celebrated on May 7 the military part.

The modern Regiment reports directly to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian armed forces.

Military barracks are located in the building of Arsenal (Cejhgauza). The presidential Regiment is equipped with all necessary facilities on the territory of Arsenal has its own parade ground and gymnasium. Individual units are also in other parts of the Moscow region.
