November 26, 1995 presidential decree officially determined that 27 December in the country should honor the representatives of such a profession as rescuers. The date of celebration is education in the year 1990 the Russian Rescue Corps-Council of Ministers of the RSFSR rendered an appropriate decision just 27 number. This date is considered the birthday of our country. This Ministry was created due to the ever-growing quantities of hazardous, i.e. emergency situations. Due to natural DISASTER, epidemiological and technological hazards suffered by people and their property, which required prevention and intervention for the sake of the smallest losses.

Rescuers are coming to help at various accidents, explosions, fires, they neutralize unexploded ordnance, helping hurricane victims, during epidemics, snowstorms, terrorist acts. Officers of the emergency situations Ministry have made good progress in the prevention and elimination of hazardous situations, rescue. Rescuers at any moment gotoyou need to be where their assistance. They work in the rubble of buildings in the smoke, in submerged areas. Putting their lives at risk, rescuers help others survive, promptly respond to all events.

Domestic rescuers helped to survive tens of thousands of people held countless search and rescue operations. They are known for their professionalism. These people definitely deserve their professional holiday of them warmly congratulated for the hard and necessary work. In Russia, the rescuer day concerts, greetings from top officials of the State are heard from the tv screens and schools prepared special performances, issued wall newspapers and held meetings with the MES during the thematic sessions.
