Mother's day in Russia

Mother's day is an international celebration of mothers. On this day decided to congratulate mothers and pregnant women, in contrast to international women's day, when greetings take all the feminines. In different countries, this day falls on different dates, mainly in the world of "mother's day" is celebrated on the second Sunday of May. Mother's day in Russia is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of November, Belarus — October 14, Georgia — 3 March in Ukraine — the second Sunday in may, in Germany in the year 2012-13 May.

In Russia the feast of mother's day was instituted in 1998 year. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation b. n. Yeltsin, on January 30, 1998, no. 120, "mother's day" celebration of mother's day is celebrated in most November Sunday. The initiative of establishing this holiday belongs to the State Duma Committee on women, family and youth. This initiative belongs to Alevtine Aparinoj-Voronova Deputy of the State Duma of Russian Federation, Member of the CENTRAL COMMITTEE of the COMMUNIST PARTY. The purpose of the holiday is to support the tradition of respect for the woman, consolidate family foundations, highlight the importance of the main man in our life — mother.
