Miner's day is a holiday that celebrates the courageous people who linked her life with hard work. Traditionally, coal miner's Day falls on the last Sunday of August.

The history of the holiday

Miner's day was approved during Soviet times, September 10, 1947 year. First time holiday celebrated in 1948. Then a memorable date was Sunday, August 29.

Every year the holiday is widely celebrated in coal-mining towns and regions: Donetsk, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo, Karaganda. Traditionally there are arranged congratulatory concerts and mass celebrations. The holiday ends with a large fireworks display.
