14 November is celebrated personal holiday all sociologists. On this day in 1901 year appeared in the French capital the Russian higher school of social sciences is mentioned in many historical documents. It is this institution believed to be the first in which appeared the sociological faculty. The school taught by leading politicians, sociologists in Russia: p. Miliukov, m. Kowalewski, p. Lavrov and e. de Roberti.

Especially bright celebrate this holiday with the year 1994 at St. Petersburg University. This day is very important for the Department of sociology, the University began the domestic academic sociology.
