World mental health day

The most important thing in our life is health, and physical and mental. Starting in 1992, each year 10 October worldwide honored as mental health day, which will be held under the auspices of the UN.

The decision about the necessity of introducing such a memorable day at the international level has been adopted World Federation for mental health, with the active assistance of the World Health Organization to attract public attention to the importance of this problems in the modern world.

According to studies, to date, the worldwide population of about 450 million people who suffer from mental disorders and diseases. Every seventh from representatives of Western civilization has paranoid syndrome or schizophrenia, prone to depression, suffered from drug addiction, alcoholism or other diseases mental nature.

Mental health day involves the creation of a society, on the one hand, a sense of tolerance towards mental patients, on the other hand, an active desire to help cure their ailments. Health-related organizations around the world seek to maximize the help in reducing depression, epilepsy, addiction, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, retardation of mental development.

Mental health day is celebrated to encourage people to unity and solidarity in helping mental patients. It is aimed at provoking public interest to mental problems of humanity. On this day, at the level of State and public organizations held numerous conferences and symposiums, discusses new directions treatment and sets directions for the mental health and emotional climate society, conducted charity events and public events to inform the public about mental illness.
